One scratch on bike

Riding a bicycle should be a lifetime pleasure, or so I thought. Multiple Sclerosis limited time riding and distance that I could peddle. Interest in riding diminished because I could no longer ride 20 or 30 miles and enjoy the adventures and sights I associated with biking.

But then I read about Pedego! On my first test ride, wow, I was so psyched!!! I could smoothly shift from peddle power to power assist whenever needed. Less fatigue!

On my 2016 Pedego Latch, I'm back on rail trails and bike paths all over New England!!! Adventures again! Thank you, Pedego, this bike made it possible for me to enjoy the ride again!

Bought my folding Latch bike 2 years ago and love it. It fits in my Prius V with back seats still usable. I can avoid street traffic and drive to the beach and have it out of my car within 2 minutes ready to go. I'm 66 and would never go back to a regular bike. I can go as far as I want without worrying about the hills or wind. Pedego is the only real choice for an electric bike. Great sales and service. Bought mine in Seal Beach, CA.

I was looking for a folded bicycle to put into my Mini every time you go to the beach. I found it so easy, and convenient to get it in and out of my car that's why I chose it. It rides so smooth, and we all ride; just adjust the seat and bars so the whole family can ride. We love it.

I purchased latch from Pedego Long Beach. Met with Aaron and team at shop. They were so professional and supportive to me. The e Bike is amazing, smooth, slick and easy to operate. I was able to fit it inside my small trunk. I'll recommend all my biking friends to visit the store.

Two long term bike riders now in our mid 70's live in a hilly area at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Did not wish to stop our biking as we aged, but the hills did reduce our riding times.Not any more, in late 2016 we purchased two Pedego Latch bikes and zoom up the hills! We travel in a small RV,fold the bikes and they fit perfect in the RV storage without racks. The bikes go everywhere with us and provide transportation at our destinations. Could not more more pleased with our trouble free Pedegos.

Being an avid bike enthusiast I like the idea of being my own source of propulsion. My wife however always said €œyou go". I have easily spent thousands on bikes and gear to entice her to participate. Since we've acquired the Pedegos she is very willing to join me knowing she is not holding me back and will be able to enjoy the excursion no matter the terrain or wind conditions. That alone has made me happy we bought our bikes.

I LOVE my Pedago! I purchased my bike in October 2018, and I've loved it every day since. After checking out and test riding various models, I went with the Latch - folding version, as I can throw my bike in the trunk of my small car and go on an adventure any time I want. With the extra "umph" of the electric power, I no longer worry about whether or not I can make it back home or back to my car without tiring out or hurting myself, so my adventures are limitless. Because it's simply FUN, I use my Pedago way more than any regular bike, and I'm WAY more active than I used to be because it's simply more fun. I still get a burn and push myself when I want to, so I'm also seeing results from my more active life style. I'm so glad I went with the best - Pedago!

I my very pleased with my purchase on 12/23/2018. The bike has alot of power, can't wait until this summer to take it to the smokey mountains.

I like the handle bars, don't have to bend over saves on the back. I like the color violet of my bike, the basket I had put on. I love the seat it is so comfortable can take long bike rides without getting a sore bottom and the compliments we get on our bikes. Love it.

I recently had a plate put in my leg from an injury and needed a way to ease back into my active life style.

The Latch bike is great for me since the power on front wheel is independent of the back wheel which my legs power.

I've rented other electric bikes and did not like that I had to put enough force on the pedals before getting any assist from the motor which was painful due to my surgery.

I love my Pedego Latch so much that I bought one for my wife.

The latch has a lot of great features. It can fit in almost any vehicle. The distance and speed are good. However, it has not held up well to the Atlanta pot holes. The battery is mounted in a precarious place over the rear tire. This puts the center of gravity quite high making the bike difficult to move when collapsed. Also the mounts have cracked and broken loose twice now. The first time I replaced the battery sleeve. The second time I put a whole bunch of cable ties around the sleeve to help distribute the stress back out to the frame. So far that is holding.

I bought the foldable Latch Pedego. I use it to get back and forth 5 miles to work. I absolutely love it. It folds so easily so I can take it into my office. Glendale Pedego had wonderful customer service. I called all around looking for a certain color. They had one, and Steve held it for me for 5 days until I could come get it. 10 stars!

I have to start out by saying that my husband was the first to buy this bike. I remember the day it got delivered and we took it out of the box and figured out how to unfold it (which was not hard,) and I thought how cool it was!

Then I took over his bike and so I went and ordered one of my own! I love, love this bicycle for the fact that I can fold it up, put it in my trunk, drive to wherever and then take it out unfold it, and ride with the wind!

It is so simple to fold and unfold. I love that you can adjust the bike to fit you personally. I love that I can choose how much pedal assist I want or I can just ride on electric power if I'm feeling tired.

The only thing I can think of to make me pause is: why did we wait so long to purchase a pedego? It was the best money we ever spent and it truly is so much fun!

My Pedego has made biking fun again. Biking before the Pedego made my knees hurt and riding up a hill was the worst. Now no problem. I still pedal to get the great exercise but using the pedal assist is a breeze not to mention if I use the throttle.

My wife and I bought two Latches. They are well designed and executed. We have ridden them about 25 miles and are still learning the differences between a regular bike and an E-Bike. I would recommend them to someone that needs the ability to fold them for transport or storage reasons. Although Pedego is more expensive then some other E-Bikes, the quality, warranty and service components of the Pedego brand fully justify the higher cost.

For a couple years, we looked at and test drove the Pedego bikes. I finally bought a Pedego Latch. I love it so much! Now I see why so many people rave about these bikes. I get my exercise and when I want to relax I can still go for a ride. This is such an amazing experience to be able to get outdoors more. When I have free time I just want to go for a ride. I love the latch because I can drive to a new area with the bike in the car, and explore other parts more easily. It rides like a regular bike and I don't give up anything with this model.

Bought a Latch at the Coronado store. They were very friendly, and willing to allow my spouse and I try them out on some of the local streets and trails. As a result, we got a Latch! Looking forward to many relaxing trips.

We travel with our Airstream Travel Trailer. The Latch is a great addition to our traveling experience. The latch is easy to fold and transport in the bed of our tow vehicle. When we get to our destination, the Latch quickly unfolds and is ready to ride around the campground or into town for a light shopping trip.

Wow! This company and their products are amazing! We purchased our Latch electric bikes from a fantastic dealer in Florida and couldn't be happier. We travel all over in our Airstream Travel Trailer and our bikes give us a great opportunity to get out and explore the cities, resorts, parks, or campgrounds we are staying in. The compact folding size make them perfect for traveling. Would highly recommend this company and their products to anyone looking for a high standard in electric bicycles.

We have 2 lime green Latch and love them. When we ride the around the neighborhood comments are made about what good looking bikes. For camping trips we fold them and take the with us. You can get a regular folding bike at Camping World but it is nothing like an e-bike, nor the great quality.

I have severe osteoarthritis and knee replacements. The Latch gives me the freedom and flexibility to explore and "keep up" as I enjoy the trails around town.

Excellent quality and functionality. Easy to transport to the beach and out of town trips.

Bought a new Latch from Island Life in St. Augustine Beach Florida a few months ago. Island Life had it ready for me when I arrived ready to go and they were great. Got the 36v 15ah battery so I would have more coverage. I usually take the latch on 25 to 30 mile rides in the evening on a route where there is minimal traffic. I always ride in pedal assist around 12-13mph. I wasn't looking to ride as fast as possible all the time but want to cruise comfortably for long distances.

Even though the Latch is a 250w front hub motor w/20 inch tires, don't let it fool you as there is no shortage of torque/power. It just took a bit to get used to a front hub motor on take off (if using the throttle only) as you have to ease on it. Once your used to it, it's no problem. I can easily go from the mainland to beachside over any of the bridges we have with no problem and stay out for hours. The bike is so quiet with the belt drive and easily adjustable so most riders could use it easily.

I don't consider it just a small folding bike but one of my main bikes I ride. Very well made and very fun to ride. The battery has a great range as even after 30 miles using pedal assist I still have plenty of power left when done. There may be a lot of "folding bikes" on the market but this bike is a solid investment, has real customer support/sales available (don't ignore this important aspect compared internet only purchases from parts unknown) and goes where I need it to easily. Pedego has been around for a while so they should have your back...

REVIEW: We live full time on a boat. Previously I had an e-bike (1st generation) and pushed it hard riding in all seasons including winter in Sitka Alaska. I mention this as a major problem with the bike was keeping the chain and sprockets clean and functioning with salt and road sand. So I have owned my latch for a bit over a year with virtually of its life spent on the roads of Mexico or riding atop our ocean trawler.

GOOD: I love the internal gearing and belt drive. In this sandy / salty environment it works great! Overall (see comments below) the quality is very good. The bike feels very comfortable and solid to me at 220#. The carrying capacity is outstanding on the rear rack (50# sack of dog food - no problem)! The support of the e-drive has helped my tired old knees get back to moving and enjoying biking again!! The battery range is amazing (I usually set it for maximum speed assist so I am traveling most terrain at 15 MPH) with my maximum run so far of 30 miles with a bit of battery charge left on return to the boat. We normally store the bike folded in a bike bag in our dinghy with my wife's e-bike under the dinghy cover which has worked will for us (we are able to carry both bikes, ourselves, our groceries, and our dog in a single dinghy run). This is the first bike I've owned with disk brakes - they are great and easy to maintain.

HOPE THEY IMPROVE IN THE FUTURE:(reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars) I'm hoping that in the future Pedego moves ALL parts to non-corrosive materials for the boating market. I would like to see a 5 speed hub option as I am often wishing I had a higher gear. I had a failure of the battery case (see service below) likely due to extreme heat in the summer tropical environment. There are a few other small items but those are the biggies.

OWNER SUGGESTION: If you take your bike to the desert, I suggest getting puncture resistant tire liners.

SERVICE: Shawn in San Diego has been very supportive and has promised a swap out of my troublesome battery case as soon as I get back to the States. This service is "above and beyond" and very personalized unlike buying from a store with lots of employees. Really outstanding overall!

SUMMARY: The bike has been our primary transportation in many of the towns we have visited, it has been put through challenging paces and held up very well. Should my wife's bike fail we will likely become a 2 Latch family.

We travel in our RV and love to Bike where we go. However, as we got older we seemed to bike less each trip. Now with our Pedego Latches, they fit easily underneath our motorhome or back of our small SUV. We now enjoy biking once more and don't worry about how far we have gone or those dreaded hills. Pedego has brought the fun back to enjoying biking again.

My GF and I rented Pedegos here in Folsom and rode them around Lake Natoma. We went home and studied electric bikes online on and off for a couple of weeks. The first of June I received a newsletter from Practical Cycle, chatted a little more about the Pedegos, went to Practical Cycle and met with Tim, the owner. Tim spent the next hour plus with us and after listening to our wants and needs, we bought two Latches. While they are still new to us and we have yet to go on a long ride, I have no doubt we’re going to love them. Tim gave us outstanding customer service and treated us more like friends rather than customers. I see a long term relationship here…

We have lived in our current house for 5yrs, and though my wife and I loved biking, we have not ridden at all due to the many steep grades and hills in and around our area.

The Latch’s 250 watt motor, located on the front wheel makes tackling the hills a breeze!
I brought the bike home on 10/09/2020, and immediately went for a 19mi ride on a sunny, ~72deg day, and didn’t sweat a drop!
The battery was only 50% depleted.

The bike really does ride like a full sized bike, feels very solid, and handles very well.

I love the folding feature, this allows me to put it in the back of the SUV, and the bike rack can carry our Pedego Interceptor (with a Boomerang also on order :)

The fold up and setup are easy, though folding up one of the pedals takes a little extra effort for now while the bike is still pretty new, I expect it will be easier as the mechanism breaks in with continued use.

My wife, who is ~ 5’ 2” also finds the bike comfortable, but if someone had short arms, like a child or smaller adult, they might get some fatigue in the arms on a long ride, because the handlebars are like a straight T, and not swept back towards the rider as on bikes like the Cruiser, Interceptor, or Boomerang.

The service from Mimi and Todd (owners) at Pedego of Frederick, Maryland has been fantastic!
Mimi’s emails were always prompt, detailed, and always answered my questions, along with offering advice and suggestions.

The Latch is well worth the money, you get an excellent product, awesome support from the Pedego dealers, and get can as much of a workout as you wish, using the motor just a bit, or a lot for an easy ride.

In a few days I’ll the one year anniversary of the day I walked into my local bike store and bought a Pedego Latch folding bike. One of the first things I did when I got my Pedego was to get rid of my heavy, cumbersome and expensive bike rack. In a matter of minutes, I can have my Latch. folded and in the trunk of my car, heading, with Lady my dog, for one of the numerous and scenic bike paths in the Chicago area.

Since I purchased my Latch, I have logged over 2700 fun filled miles. On most morning. evenings, and many afternoons, you will find me riding my Pedego with Lady trotting by my side. Knowing that has been great for my body and soul.

In conclusion I would like to add that If there ever is a time that you have a question or issue with your Pedego bike, that your bike store is unable to resolve, the unbelievably professional Pedego service center is will resolve it in a courteous and timely fashion.
