Pedego Juno Beach offers endless fun on wheels

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May. 29, 2020 — The Juno Beach Pedego® Electric Bikes store has a new owner in mechanic extraordinaire Mike Montalto, who’s excited to offer sales, rentals, service and accessories of the country’s No. 1 electric bike brand. Free test rides are also available.

New store owner brings brand expertise to help riders go electric.

Mike Montalto became a Pedego Electric Bikes expert in the three years he served as the Juno Beach store’s manager and mechanic. He likes the brand so much, he recently bought the shop and is eager to spread the good news electric cycling brings.

Montalto’s mechanical know-how makes him the perfect person to introduce people to the fast-growing way to combine fun and exercise.

“When I was a kid, they called me Grease, because all’s I did was work on minibikes, go-carts, bicycles,” says Montalto, whose father was an aircraft engineer.

Montalto owned and operated a seafood restaurant in the Florida Keys for 30 years after earning a premed degree in college that he never used. But he never lost his mechanical touch, and thus services Pedegos, as well as offers sales, rentals and accessories from the U.S. Highway 1 shop.

That expertise drew him to Pedego when he first visited the store for the mechanic job. “I noticed immediately it’s a very high-quality bike, powerful, very comfortable to ride.”

Montalto has a Platinum Interceptor model he rides in his free time, but, “I like them all.”

His shop is the only electric bike retailer within 50 miles in either direction down Highway 1, nestled a block from the beach in a shopping center with a deli, a barber and a fruit market selling produce from local orchards.

Those renting Pedegos from him can spin over to the Ocean Drive bike lane to spend an afternoon or a day touring the beachside. Along the way, they see the Juno Beach Pier and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Southward, there’s Singer Island and Pelican Lake. About 10 miles north, there’s Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

“People got nothing to do (now during the pandemic), and they’re riding more bikes,” says Montalto, who happens to think Pedego’s the way to go — and it’s five-year product warranty doesn’t hurt, either.
