Pedego Store in Oyama Motors Through Success After Success Over the Last Year

April 25, 2022

OYAMA, British Columbia (February 27, 2022) – Pedego Electric Bikes, an award-winning national electric bike company with over 200 stores globally, celebrates the many successes of their store Pedego Oyama in Lake Country, British Columbia, Canada.

The Pedego store, located in the Okanagan region, provides e-bikes for rental and purchase, as well as expert advice, parts and services, and professional assembly to suit all Pedego e-biking needs. Centered in the hub of Lake Country, the store offers access to the Okanagan Rail Trail and Valley, as well as multiple unique guided and self-guided bike tours focusing on a wide variety of scenery and activities.

The store showed it’s class and desirability securing the 2021 Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award. This well-deserved award revels in Pedego Oyama’s perfect location at the junction of Kalamalka Lake and Wood Lake. The nearby Okanagan Rail Trail also offers easy navigation and spectacular lakeshore access for folks of all abilities to enjoy a true taste of Okanagan life.

“This is an incredible honor to be part of this community and we sincerely thank all of our rental guests for sharing their tour experiences on TripAdvisor,” said Sheila Fraser, co-owner of Pedego Oyama. “We are so very proud of our team for consistently delivering an informative orientation for riding an electric bike in a fun, easy and safe way. We look forward to serving more guests throughout 2022 and sharing with them our slice of riding Heaven in Lake Country.”

Oyama’s successes have afforded them the ability to help their local community in a variety of ways. The store recently started their now annual “Tena’s Ride for the Cure,” a fundraising event designed to raise money for breast cancer research. The 2021 ride marked local Pedego bike owner Tena McKenzie’s 10th anniversary of surviving breast cancer. Over 50 people participated by riding Pedego bikes around Wood Lake, and the ride succeeded in raising $7,000 to fund breast cancer research.

“We all felt like a Motorcycle Club on the ride,” said Tena. “So this year I called my team B.O.A – Boobs of Anarchy – we were in black biker T-shirts with pink feather Boas, and I led the pack with my Breast Cancer Pink Pedego E- bike!”

In addition to supporting their local members of the Pedego community, the Oyama store is also committed to giving back to the beautiful scenery and natural features that make their store such a desired destination. Pedego Oyama donates a percentage of all revenue made from e-bike rentals back to maintaining and protecting the Okanagan Rail Trail for future generations of riders, totaling $4,000 in 2021.

“I am so proud to see small successes turn into large-scale community efforts with Pedego Oyama at the center,” said Pedego CEO Don DiCostanzo. “Community work like this is what Pedego is all about, and it’s amazing to see a store really take that idea to heart. Pedego Oyama has been excellent at using the platform they have to amplify their voice, help others, and bring people together.”
