Local Electric Bike Shop Hosts Group Bike Ride And Community Event, Inspires Connection And Outdoor Activity
Wheaton, Ill.—June 9, 2021—As part of the nationwide “Hello Fun Tour,” Pedego Electric Bikes Wheaton is hosting a neighborhood Palooza event on Tuesday, June 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Pedego CEO Don DiConstanzo and Pedego Director of Business Development Cynthia Newcomb will also be in attendance to connect with local Pedego enthusiasts.
Hosted by local owners Jeff and Andie Alvis and Bill and Karen Budicin, the event will include music, local vendors, a hot dog truck, a Pedego group bike ride and trial bike rides. Pedego Wheaton will also donate a Pedego Electric Bike to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Wheaton and the surrounding communities.
“We are all thrilled to bring Pedego Electric Bikes to Wheaton,” said co-owner Jeff Alvis. “Wheaton is a unique family oriented community that has both small town charm and big city access, making it a great place to build connections and explore new hobbies. The love of biking is evident throughout this community, and we could not be more excited to inspire connection through fitness and the freedom that comes with exploring the outdoors on a Pedego.”
Jeff Alvis, along with his friend and former colleague Bill Budicin and their wives, opened Pedego Wheaton in March 2021 after a year of retirement from a previous career in management consulting. “We saw an opening to capitalize on the extraordinary market opportunity here,” said Jeff Alvis. “Coming out of retirement, I found myself wanting to discover new ways to give back to my community, and I saw the Pedego support model as a perfect way to allow people to rediscover joy and adventure with Pedego Electric Bikes.”
Don DiCostanzo founded Pedego Electric Bikes in 2008 out of a desire to combine quality and style in the electric bikes category. Pedego Wheaton joins the over 180 locally-owned Pedego stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
