FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May. 29, 2020 — The Boise Pedego® Electric Bikes store has new ownership, as well as a life-long cyclist and bicycle mechanic in new Pedego Boise General Manager Kevin Allen, who’s excited to offer rentals, sales and service of the country’s No. 1 electric bike brand. New Pedego Boise General Manager Kevin Allen grew up tinkering with bikes—from the time he learned to ride. As a young boy, he and his brother modified their own bikes and even took in neighbor kids’ rides to service. So when he learned Pedego Boise was looking for a general manager, he pounced on the chance to take his dream job.

“My father was a mechanic, and his father was a mechanic, and my mother’s father was a mechanic,” says Allen, who decided to quite his 42-year job in diesel engine customer service to pursue bicycle technician work.

Online research helped him zero in on Pedego Electric Bikes because he recognized its products top the market in quality, which was his top criterium.

“There was nobody I thought was comparable to Pedego.”

He “thoroughly enjoyed” a test spin on a Pedego Interceptor, and as luck would have it, Pedego Boise was looking for a general manager. Allen, clearly fully qualified, got the job.

Now the proud owner of an Elevate model so he can mountain bike with his children and grandchildren, his appreciation for the power and performance of electric makes Allen an ideal guide for people giving it a try for the first time. He especially holds in high esteem Pedego’s power and pedal-assist.

He’s getting plenty of customers in a city that ranks among the top 25 in the U.S. for cycling, according to Bicycling. Pedego Boise sits right across West Park Center Boulevard from the Boise River Greenbelt, a 25-mile trail along the river through the City of Trees. The ride takes cyclists past heavy tree lines and Boise State University, through downtown Boise, historic city parks and views of the river all the way to Lucky Peak Dam. Restaurants, breweries, wineries, museums and art galleries dot the trailside.
