PENINSULA and MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio — June 5, 2021—As part of its nationwide “Hello Fun Tour,” Keith and Nancy Gecking, owners of Pedego Electric Bike stores in Peninsula and Middlefield, are hosting community events at both of their stores on Saturday, June 5, and Monday, June 7.
A neighborhood Palooza event will be held at the Pedego Electric Bikes Peninsula storefront on Saturday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature a group Pedego ride, a band performing live music, food, a raffle, prizes and giveaways. Half of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to The Peninsula Foundation, a location nonprofit aimed at educating the community about public policies based on the principles of liberty, equality, transparent governance, economic freedom, peace and security.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our Pedego community with this Palooza event,” said Nancy Gecking, co-owner of Pedego Peninsula and Pedego Middlefield. “We believe Peninsula is the perfect place to enjoy a Pedego. We are in the middle of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with an 85-mile bike path and a welcoming little town with rich history.”
Mayor Ben Garlich will join the Geckings to host the ribbon cutting celebration held at Pedego Electric Bikes Middlefield on Monday, June 7, at 12 p.m. The event will include bike rental giveaways, refreshments and more.
Pedego Vice President of Marketing Cassidy Castleman will be in attendance at both events to connect with local Pedego enthusiasts.
“We absolutely love our Pedego Electric Bikes,” said Keith Gecking, co-owner of Pedego Peninsula. “Riding our bikes brings us so much and we love that Pedego is focused on connection with others, adventure and simply enjoying the outdoors. That’s why we decided to open a second store in Middlefield! It’s really the perfect business for us to begin as we approach retirement.”
In addition to operating Pedego Peninsula and Pedego Middlefield, Nancy is currently a principal at a local school for children with emotional disabilities, and Keith owns an additional business that sells aftermarket products across the U.S. in the automotive, boat and RV industries.
This event is one stop of many on Pedego’s 2021 Hello Fun Tour. With stops in more than 80 communities that are home to Pedego storefronts, the Hello Fun Tour will highlight more than 40 new store openings, adding to the brand’s footprint of over 175 locally-owned locations.
“The Hello Fun Tour is the highlight of our year at Pedego,” said Pedego CEO, Don DiCostanzo. “We love the opportunity to celebrate our communities. This tour is a unique way for us to show our appreciation and to surprise and delight our store owners and customers. Pedego is all about community, connecting with others and enjoying exercise, and the Palooza events embody just that.”
