Local Electric Bike Shop Participates in Annual Golf Tournament, Donates To Chamber Of Commerce Scholarship Fund
LAKE OCONEE, Ga. — April 19, 2021—To celebrate its grand opening, Pedego Electric Bikes Lake Oconee will participate in the seventh annual Sweet Tee Off Golf Tournament held at Cuscowilla Country Club, located at 126 Cuscowilla Dr. on April 19.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our new Pedego storefront at the Sweet Tee Off Golf Tournament this year,” said Mike Meehan, owner of Pedego Lake Oconee. “Pedego is focused on connection with others, adventure and simply enjoying the outdoors, so this tournament is a great fit to do just that. We are grateful for our community, and we’re excited to see it continue to grow.”
The Pedego Hello Fun Tour Bus, along with Pedego CEO Don DiCostanzo and Pedego Director of Business Development Cynthia Newcomb, will make an appearance at the tournament, and Pedego Lake Oconee will greet players and offer test rides on Pedego e-bikes from 9-11 a.m., prior to the tournament kickoff. The local store is also donating a Pedego Boomerang e-bike for the Chamber of Commerce to use towards raising money for its annual scholarship fund.
Meehan, a former commercial trucking financier of 30 years, decided to change his retirement plans and open a Pedego store of his own. “After exploring other opportunities in various industries, I came across Pedego and knew it would be an excellent fit. I decided to uproot from Texas and open my store in Lake Oconee because of the beautiful landscape and multitude of golf resorts that offer great scenery for cyclists,” said Meehan.
