Prior to opening their Pedego store, Dick was a longtime IT professional, and Donna was a medical assistant. Together, they raised four children. Their son Mike was previously a firefighter/paramedic and is currently an officer in the Washington State Air National Guard. He enjoys using skills acquired as an officer to run their family’s Pedego store.

“With Pedego electric bikes, riders can use as much or as little power as they like, controlling their exercise and enjoying the fresh-air fitness of a bike ride that makes you feel like a kid again,” Dick said.  “Once they test ride our Pedego bikes, they’re in love,” Mike added.

Pedego Redmond offers a remarkable selection of scenic rides and enticing destinations. Renters can take advantage of the community’s active bike culture and interconnected network of dedicated bike paths. Redmond’s popular Sammamish River Trail, located about 200 yards from the Pedego store, provides miles of scenic beauty and gorgeous destinations for riders — even as far as Seattle, less than an hour away. Also, a comfortable one-hour bike loop along the Sammamish River loops around and returns to Pedego Redmond.

Self-guided tours include bike rides to local wineries and breweries, which adds a sophisticated element to all the fun of touring the countryside. The Nelsons plan to add guided Pedego tours of the local San Juan Islands soon.

Pedego electric bikes are a popular choice for local commuters, allowing riders to zoom past traffic and avoid parking hassles. Employees of high-tech companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Google, Paccar and SpaceX are empowered to ride to work in a way that’s economical, fun and green.

“The Nelsons have created the perfect fusion of tech and fun,” said Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “Pedego Redmond is energizing the region with quality electric bikes that can travel distances, reach new vistas and keep riders smiling on powerful bikes with dependable components and stylish design.”
