Pedego St. Louis

Pedego St. Louis co-owners Carla and Bill Sauerwein are excited to bring powerful Pedego electric bikes to the greater St. Louis area

Now in their 50s, the Sauerweins have been riding bicycles for years. Bill started at age four and was an avid road cyclist after college. “As I aged, my joints began to ache from riding standard bikes, and my friends recommended Pedego bikes as a solution,” he explained. Carla laughed and added, “Problem solved! Hello, fun!” The couple decided to open a Pedego store because they wanted to promote a healthy lifestyle, help their community and work outdoors as much as possible.

“The greater St. Louis area is becoming more bike-friendly with numerous paths and a system of dedicated trails to explore.  Pedego’s high-quality electric bikes will help more people enjoy the adventure,” said Carla.

Located at Big Bend and Highway 44, Pedego St. Louis is adjacent to the Gravois Greenway (Grant’s Trail), which joins one the nation’s best-developed bike trail networks where riders can enjoy miles of relaxing scenic splendor.

Local destinations and activities include a visit to the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales at Grant’s Farm, brunching at The Barn and touring the Sappington House museum. On Pedego electric bikes, riders can enjoy a self-guided 10-mile trip to Forest Park, the largest municipal park in America. Guided tours will be available soon. Zooming for miles is extra fun with Pedego’s Pedal Assist and twist-and-go throttle that helps riders power up hills, through headwinds and across distances with ease.

“The bike trails and neighborhoods in St. Louis and its surrounding communities are awesome, providing miles of interesting cycling,” said Don DiCostanzo, Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder. “On Pedego electric bikes, riders can enjoy exploring all of the Greenways in the St. Louis region.”
