New Pedego Electric Bikes Forth Worth Store Draws Customer Stampede

July 11, 2017

Exciting electric cycling store comes to Cowtown, and the locals saddle-up for fun.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 12, 2017 — The first official Pedego® Electric Bikes store in Texas is now open, making the bike paths happy trails all over Fort Worth as riders cruise along on amazing electric bicycles. Located in the revitalized area of Near Southside in the heart of Fort Worth, the Pedego Fort Worth store is situated in a 2,400-square-foot metal building that was built around a shipping container. It was designed by renowned architectural firm of 97W, also located in the Near Southside area. Pedego Fort Worth is the 102nd Pedego-branded store to open worldwide.

Owning the state’s first Pedego store followed a logical progression for store co-owners Vicki and Neal Peden. The two already own and operate Fort Worth-based Cowtown Cycle Party along with their daughter Keely Peden. “When we opened in 2012, we were the first party bike company in North Texas,” said Neal. Then they tried Pedego bikes. “We had a great experience riding the bikes on vacation,” said Vicki. “So we bought a Pedego rental fleet and started doing guided tours. The reaction to our Pedego bikes was so positive that people wanted to buy them. The next logical step was to open a Pedego store.”

Pedego’s 500-watt motors and state-of-the-art lithium ion batteries help riders conquer hills and fly through headwinds. Distances are no problem on the bikes, so riders can easily roam the great Texas landscape, confident that they will be able to return home at the end of the adventure.

Pedego Fort Worth offers sales of all Pedego models as well free test rides, bike accessories, full-service maintenance and repairs. It offers hourly rentals of Pedego electric bikes starting at $20 per hour. Riders must be at least 16 years old. Helmets and water are provided.

Pedego Fort Worth also offers a fun menu of guided tours for groups of four or more, including:

  • Fort Worth Stockyards Tour, which takes riders on the Trinity Trails to the Fort Worth Stockyards to see the world’s only twice-daily authentic longhorn cattle drive. This 2.5-hour guided ride is $68 per person.
  • The Bike-n-Barbecue Tour, which is just the ticket for those with an appetite for Texas cuisine. Experience Fort Worth from the historic Near Southside to Downtown to the Stockyards and enjoy a barbecue lunch at Cooper’s Old Time Pit BBQ. This three-hour guided ride is $88 per person and includes lunch.

Self-guided tours are available at $40 per person. Each two-hour adventure offers a taste of exciting Fort Worth scenery and experiences. Riders can also enjoy the 70 miles of Trinity Trails along the Trinity River.

“A Pedego electric bike will put you back in the saddle again,” quipped Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “We have seen a lot of smiles on the bike trails around Fort Worth as more people are able to ride longer, farther and faster while having more fun on our powerful electric bikes.”
