Pedego is the nation’s Number 1 electric bike company

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 5, 2018 — Pedego® Electric Bikes is celebrating its 10th anniversary. As the Number 1 electric bike brand, Pedego has spent a decade boldly redefining fun for the thousands of Pedego customers who are empowered to discover the joys of riding an electric bike. Pedego’s winning formula is combining unparalleled customer service with stylish, high-quality electric bikes, offering riders a bounty of choices in colors and features.

Pedego was founded in 2008 when best friends Don DiCostanzo and Terry Sherry sketched their first design of a Pedego electric bike on a napkin. In 2009, they sold their first Pedego Comfort Cruiser, the company’s original electric bike model. Now 10 years later, the company has 15 models that are sold in more than 140 Pedego-branded stores worldwide.

Pedego’s strong reputation for elegant, reliable bikes has propelled it to the summit of success boasting an average of 40 percent annual growth for the past few years. The privately held company anticipates 2018 earnings of $20 million and has been on the Inc. 5000 list for five consecutive years. The Orange County Business Journal named Pedego one of 2018’s fastest growing privately held companies in Orange County. Pedego has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur, the LA Times and the New York Times. Pedego CEO DiCostanzo was recently named a finalist in Ernst & Young’s 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year award program and this fall was named an Entrepreneur of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal. Pedego’s celebrity customers include William Shatner, Martha Stewart and Denise Austin.

Pedego bikes are sold in 20 countries, including more than 100 Pedego-branded stores in the U.S. They are sold in 11 nations across Europe. There are eight Pedego-branded stores in Canada as well as stores in Mexico and New Zealand. Pedego bikes are also sold in Argentina, Australia, Chile, Dubai, Korea, Russia and United Arab Emirates

In each store in each country, the Pedego fan base has multiplied rapidly as people fall in love with the bikes, purchase them and then bring friends in to try them too. Word of mouth is a key factor in the company’s success.

“Pedego combines superior bicycle components with the latest technologies to create electric bikes that people trust and enjoy,” said DiCostanzo. “It is a pleasure and an honor to delight our customers with the best brand of electric bikes in the world. We look forward to many more years of providing world-class electric bikes and bringing more people onto the bike paths.”
