James is a former sales and business development professional in the aerospace industry. He is also a licensed pilot who loves adventure. Rachele worked in office administration and accounting. Together, they bring years of business experience to their new store.

“On Pedego electric bikes, more people will be able to enjoy the city’s dazzling scenic paths, conquering elevation gains, headwinds and distances,” James said. “I’m excited to share my passion for Pedego with our community.” Rachele added, “Riding a Pedego gives riders the feeling of freedom they had riding bikes as kids. It is so much fun!”

Pedego Tucson is conveniently located adjacent to the city’s famous “Loop” trail, a system of paved, shared-use paths and short segments of buffered bike lanes connecting the Rillito, Santa Cruz and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Road Greenways. More than 120 miles of paved pathways and bike lanes have already been completed with an additional 11 miles planned or currently under construction.

Visitors to Pedego Tucson are thrilled by their electric bike rentals and self-guided tours that zip riders along miles of world-class bike paths. On electric bikes, they can reach more destinations with ease, including Sabino Canyon, Saguaro National Park East, Cañada del Oro River Walk and Honeybee Canyon. Riders can also enjoy zooming through the University of Arizona campus and other exhilarating rides around urban Tucson. Guided tours will be available later in the year.

The store sells all 12 models of Pedego’s popular electric bikes. Pedego bikes have 500-watt hub motors that help riders cruise distances of 20 to 60 miles without getting tired and sweaty. The twist-and-go throttle gives riders instant manual control over their speeds while Pedal Assist can automatically add power to their pedaling.

Riders love Pedego’s California-style cruisers, including the Pedego Platinum Interceptor, a fully loaded cruiser bike with a 48-volt battery that propels riders with extra power; the Pedego Interceptor, which boasts the same powerful 48-volt battery; and Pedego’s Comfort Cruiser, which is powered by a 36-volt battery for gentle help with hills.

Pedego’s new City Commuter Mid-Drive edition, City Commuter Black Edition and standard City Commuter provide additional choices for more riding styles. Also available are the sturdy Stretch cargo bike; the Trail Tracker fat-tire bike for riding on sand, gravel and snow; the Ridge Rider electric mountain bike; and the Latch, an ingenious folding bike, designed for portability and convenience. Other models include the electric tandem bike for two and the accessible Pedego Boomerang with an ultra-low step-thru frame. Pedego also offers the Airstream model for camping devotees. Free test rides are available at the store.

“Pedego Tucson’s owners James and Rachele Lorentzen love helping people discover the fun of electric bikes,” said Pedego Electric Bikes CEO and co-founder Don DiCostanzo. “Pedego Tucson is ready to zoom riders to high-flying fun.”
